Iraq Arrive in Shenzhen without coach

The Iraq delegation landed at Shenzhen Baoan Airport at 6.30pm on Sunday – with only 10 players and to the astonishment of the local press, no coach.

Where's Zico?

Zico will arrive with his brother Edu and physical trainer Moraci Santanna on Tuesday via Hong Kong. The team trained at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center on Monday.

The 10 players consist of goalkeepers Nour Sabri and Jalal Hassan, defenders Basim Abbas, Hussam Kadhim, Farid Majeed, midfielders Ahmed Ayad, Muthanna Khalid, Samar Saeed, Amir Sabah and Amjad Radhi. The Arbil trio of Hussam Kadhim, Ahmed Ayad and Amjad Radhi were allowed to travel to China by their club because they were not needed for their AFC Cup tie.

Amjad was suspended for the first leg with Kuwait SC, Ahmed Ayad had not been registered while Hussam was not needed.

The players based in Qatar and Iran will arrive on Wednesday, with the Arbil contingent completing the rest of the squad with their arrival after their AFC Cup tie.
