Zico’s manager in Baghdad, the man himself to arrive “on Wednesday at the latest”


Aswat Al-Iraq reports that Zico’s manager Antonio Simões da Costa landed in Baghdad on Monday to hold talks with FA officials in an attempt to solve the problem over the Brazilian coach unpaid salary and discuss whether he would continue to manage the Iraqi team according to a source close to the Iraq FA.

Discussions are being held in Najaf in the presence of the President of the FA, Najih Humoud and Zico’s interpreter Salam Kamil Al-Obaidi, with Zico set to arrive in Baghdad “on Wednesday at the latest” to start training for the upcoming World Cup qualifier with Japan.
