Salam Shaker out of crucial Saitama showdown

Key central defender Salam Shaker has been ruled out for at least two months after breaking his collarbone playing for his club Al-Khor in a friendly game against Sailiya yesterday.

The club’s doctors expect him to be sidelined for at least two months after he has surgery on Sunday, which rules him out of the vital match with Japan on September 11 in Saitama.
