Maradona to replace Zico?

Diego Armando Maradona looks set to continue his tour of Asia and after leaving the Al Wasl of the UAE and could be named new coach of Iraq as soon as Friday according to a report by Argentine sports paper Canchallena. The only obstacle is the approval from the FA for the Argentine to take the reins of a team.

“We received the offer and contacted Diego, who accepted it” said agent Hernan Tofoni of World Eleven, who deal with the daily management of the Argentine star.

“The President of the Iraqi Football Association will convene a meeting of the Executive Committee on Friday to formalise the financial offer and to ensure that Diego is the new coach before the end of 2012,” said Hernan Tofoni.
