Omani player was eligible to play against Iraq

There have been reports from the Iraqi media that the Iraqi FA will make a complaint to the world footballing governing body over the eligibility of Oman’s Saad Suhail Juma Al-Mukhaini.

The Iraq FA will reportedly make a claim to FIFA that the Omani player was not eligible to play against Iraq because he was suspended for picking up two bookings in two earlier qualifiers.

However this is incorrect. The player who goes under the name of ‘Saad AL MUKHAINI’ in FIFA’s match reports on their website, received two bookings in Group B matches against Iraq (on June 12, 2012) and against Jordan (on October 16, 2012) and was suspended for the next qualifier against Japan (on November 14, 2012)

He received his third yellow of the qualifying campaign against Australia (on March 26, 2013).

It is only the Iraqi FA who make these mistakes, i.e. Faisal Jassim, the Olympic player and the Under 17s goalkeeper Ahmed Ali Al-Turfa a few years ago.
