Olympic coach Hakim Shaker has named his 30-man squad for the 3rd Nakba Championship scheduled to be held in the West Bank from 1 to the 15th of May.
The Olympic coach, who’s also manages the national team, was forced to name a weaker squad after several Iraqi clubs including league leaders Arbil and Al-Zawraa refused to release their first team players for the tournament.
The list includes one foreign based player, midfielder Osama Rashid from amateur club Alphense Boys and Olympic players Ahmed Abbas, Ammar Abdul-Hussein and Marwan Hussein, who look set to form the backbone of Hakim’s team if they travel to Palestine. The squad will be cut to 23 players before leaving Baghdad.
The 30 man squad will begin training from April 25 before traveling to Amman two days later, where they will play a friendly game with the Jordanian Olympic team on April in preparation for the Nakba Championship.
